It is almost Canada Day and one of the more interesting things I have seen is a video of an across-the-border conversation between a Canadian and American. Even though done in fun, there was a bit of a message that made me appreciate what makes our country special.
The American asked, “Canadian, what have you got to celebrate?”
The Canadian came through with a number of things; universal health care being top of the list.
Next came maternity leave, poutine bagged milk and beer – well, real beer, not that yellow stuff that is passed off as beer, and butter tarts and hockey.
The American argued they were the home of KFC. The Canadian responded, “Colonel Sanders lived in Canada from 1965 to 1980 – now, there is something I did not know. The Colonel moved to Mississauga, Ontario to oversee the development of KFC franchises in Canada, with the first ever opening in Saskatoon in 1965.
